Internationalism
Internationalism
Queens Park Lower School prides itself on its International Mindedness. We often learn about people, cultures and traditions from all over the world. We are aiming to achieve the International Schools Award this year, in doing so we take part in many enriching activities. Read on to find out about just some of the exciting activities we take part in.
International Schools Links
The classes in keystage 2 are eager to develop links with children in other countries. With their new abilities and skills in email we are currently communicating with a school in St Louis (America) on a weekly basis. Switzerland class have written to a school in Bangladesh and we will soon be exchanging ideas with a school in Poland!

World Families
Every member of our school community is a member of one of the world families. Each week we celebrate the family that has earned the most golden minutes. At the end of each term the winning world family receives a special treat and at the end of the year a trophy will be awarded! The world families are Africa, Asia, Australia and America.
Celebrating World festivals
We endeavour to celebrate as many word festivals as possible. Look at the fun we have!

Barnaby Bear travels
Each class has a bear that they take with them on any global travels. Watch this space for information about Barnaby’s planned trip to America. He is also going to Italy (with one of our School Governors) in April.
Languages spoken in School
We are very lucky at our school as nearly all of us speak more than one Language. This year there are 19 languages spoken by the adults and children and in Year 3 we are also learning to speak French.
