Welcome to our School

We are a community Lower School, maintained by the borough of Bedford. Our school is based on two sites – Marlborough Road (Early Years) and Chestnut Avenue (Years 1 to 4). We admit children from three to nine years old and we very much look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school.

This website will tell you how our school is organised and introduces you to our curriculum and daily routine.

We see parents as partners in the education of their children and greatly value their involvement in school life. Children thrive when they feel happy and secure and we endeavour to set them challenging and stimulating learning experiences that we know you will support.

In October 2008 Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) visited the school. As a result we were designated ‘Outstanding' in all areas. Ofsted said ‘This is an outstanding school……. A particularly impressive feature of the provision is the way in which staff reach out to the community and welcome and include pupils from very diverse backgrounds to an outstanding degree. Pupils do so well because the teaching and the curriculum are excellent. As one parent commented, ‘Everybody goes out of their way to improve standards and accommodate the children.' ….The school is a vibrant and harmonious community.
