The Curriculum

At Queens Park Lower School we design our curriculum based on the principles of the International Primary Curriculum.
The International Primary Curriculum was introduced to school in 2005 and is a thematic curriculum model that we believe will motivate and engage the children and their families in learning. The curriculum compliments and enhances the National Curriculum.

- Basic Skills Quality Award
- International Schools Award
The staff teach elements of cross-curricular themes, PSHCE, Health education, Environmental education, Citizenship through the foundation stage curriculum, and through the core and foundation subjects of the National Curriculum, Religious Education and relevant themes alongside the attitudes and values promoted in the school. The School Council contributes strongly to these aspects.
In 2007/8 we introduced Values Education across our school and also the middle and upper school. Each month we develop a key value across all year groups – the details of which are:
